A team leader is someone who provides guidance, instruction, direction and leadership to a group of individuals for the purpose of achieving a key result or a group of aligned results. The team leader monitors the quantitive and qualitive achievements of the team and reports the results to a manager. (Wikipedia).
In the context of this church body, a leader is one who has the passion to lead others toward a meaningful relationship with Christ. One who will make disciples as we all have been commissioned by Him to do.
Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to Me, Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of The Father and of The Son and of The Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Building With Vision!
God's vision for the church is clearly laid out throughout scripture.
"In an age of "church" where we've grown accustomed to just "having church service" once a week, I wonder if our impact on the world we live in has been diminished by routine and entertaining encouragement." - PB
We come together every Sunday to fit an opening prayer, church announcements, music, and a message from a charismatic preacher into an hour of what is expected to be happiness. Is this routine leading people to repent of their sin and receive forgiveness? Is it leading them down a path of success in the eyes of eternity?
Let's take this time as an opportunity to lead people.
Call someone in the church and ask if they need anything.
Then call someone outside the church and see if they need anything.
Is there someone on your "friends" list that may need prayer?
Let's pray for them and ask God what it is that we can do for them..... Then call and encourage them.
Is everyone okay with food?
Are some feeling isolated?
Have you tried Facetime? Maybe ask someone if they would like to video chat so they can see your smile?
Let's do all that we can to stay connected as a church and to bring others into this connection!
